The most delicious quince jam

Quince jam, as a rare fruit in our latitudes, is not yet popular, but in terms of its qualities it is not inferior to pear or apple jam. For jam, quince is boiled in water until soft, then crushed in any way and the resulting puree is boiled with sugar to the desired consistency.

Prepare all the ingredients for cooking quince jam and rinse the jars for this blank with baking soda.

Rinse the quince well under running water.

To make the jam a beautiful and uniform texture, peel the quince and remove the stalks with seed pods. Then cut it into small pieces.

Cook the quince over low heat and covered for 45 minutes to soften. No more than 2 glasses of water should remain in the already boiled quince, drain the excess water.

In the resulting puree, pour the amount of sugar and citric acid indicated in the recipe, mix and cook the jam over low heat with occasional stirring for an hour. The density of the jam will depend on the cooking time.

During this time, dry sterilize the prepared jars and boil the lids. Put the hot quince jam in jars, and immediately seal it tightly with lids. After cooling, transfer the jam to storage in a cool place.
