Cornmeal charlotte with apples

Cornmeal baked goods have a special texture that combines both friability and moisture. Products made from such flour are ideal for those who, for whatever reason, avoid gluten. In addition, the color of corn dough is always pleasing to the eye, both during its preparation and while eating. And in combination with juicy apples, charlotte corn will definitely cheer you up and pleasantly surprise you with a new shade of familiar taste.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
To prepare the dough, you need to melt the butter. It is convenient to do this in the microwave. Pour almost all the sugar into the liquid oil, leaving a couple of spoons for sprinkling apples.
step 2 out of 7
We begin to beat the mixture of butter and sugar with a mixer at slow speeds, gradually increasing the speed. The sugar should dissolve and the mixture should be smooth. One by one, gradually add the eggs, whisking thoroughly after each egg. After adding all the eggs, the mixture should lighten and noticeably increase in volume.
step 3 out of 7
Pour corn flour into the resulting mixture along with baking powder. Gently mix with a liquid egg-oil mass and beat again with a mixer at medium speed. The dough is homogeneous, rather thick and dense.
step 4 out of 7
Prepare a baking dish by greasing it well with oil. If a silicone mold is used, then there is no need to lubricate it. Put the corn dough into the prepared form and gently level it with a spoon around the entire perimeter. Cut the apples into four parts, cut the seeds with a thin knife. Cut into slices of five to seven millimeters. Now spread the apple slices in a fan in a circle on the dough.
step 5 out of 7
Pour ground cinnamon and the remaining sugar evenly onto the laid apples. We put the form with the future charlotte in an oven preheated to 180 degrees to the middle level. Baking time is approximately 40 minutes. The cake should expand slightly and brown well.
step 6 out of 7
We take out the finished charlotte from the oven and leave it to cool slightly. A warm charlotte can already be easily removed if you do not plan to serve it in a baking dish.
step 7 out of 7
Cut the charlotte into pieces and serve. When serving, you can add a scoop of ice cream to the pastries or simply sprinkle with powdered sugar.

Bon Appetit!
