Sorrel for the winter in the freezer

Sorrel is almost the first greenery in the garden, which saturates us with fresh vitamins after a long winter. Only then, along with the heat, the whole variety of food vegetation appears, against the background of which the sorrel loses its seasonal popularity. It is at this moment that it is worth preparing it for the winter - on winter days, the value and popularity of sour grass grows again! The easiest way, it is also the most gentle, is freezing. Requires a minimum of time and effort, retains the entire nutritional value of the product.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We sort out the collected sorrel: throw away random garbage, remove dried leaves. If a sorrel damaged by pests is caught, we must get rid of it. Too tough stems should also be removed.
step 2 out of 5
We thoroughly wash the prepared sorrel from dirt and dust. Put the washed leaves on a clean towel and let them dry well.
step 3 out of 5
Lay the dried sorrel in an oblong bunch and cut it across with a knife into thin strips. Chopped greens should be lightly crushed with your hands to reduce the volume.
step 4 out of 5
Lay out the chopped sorrel in plastic bags, wrap them tightly or tie them. We give the bags of herbs a flat look to save space in the freezer, and put them in the freezer.
step 5 out of 5
Alternatively, chopped sorrel can be packaged not in bags, but in plastic glasses and frozen. After the greens are frozen, the portions obtained must be removed from the glasses, placed in a bag and returned to the freezer. This option will not save space in the freezer, but it will simplify the process of dosing sorrel when cooking.
