Today I want to share a gorgeous recipe for salted mackerel cooked in onion skins. The appetizer turns out to be beautiful, mouth-watering and satisfying. A great option for a cold appetizer for a festive feast.

Prepare the marinade. Pour the required amount of cold water into a saucepan. Put on moderate heat and bring to a boil. Then add granulated sugar, salt and black tea. Boil for a couple of minutes and remove from heat.

Then add the onion husks, black peppercorns, allspice, coriander seeds and bay leaf.

Peel the onions and cut them in half. Cut half the onion in half and place in the marinade. Put on moderate heat and bring to a boil. Boil for 5-7 minutes and remove from heat. Cool completely with the lid closed.
