Salted mackerel in brine for 2 hours

It is with great pleasure that I want to share a quick and simple recipe for an unusually tasty and aromatic mackerel cooked in brine in 2 hours. The fish is tender and moderately salty.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
First, prepare all the necessary ingredients for pickling the mackerel. Peel the onions and rinse under running water.
step 2 out of 7
Cut the peeled onions into 4 pieces. Prepare the marinade. Add salt, dry grains of mustard, chopped onions and bay leaves to a saucepan.
step 3 out of 7
Fill with cold water. Put on moderate heat and bring to a boil. Boil for just a couple of minutes and remove from heat. Cool completely.
step 4 out of 7
In the meantime, peel the freshly frozen mackerel from the fins and head, carefully remove the entrails and films. Rinse the prepared mackerel under running water, and then pat dry with paper towels and cut into small pieces of the same size.
step 5 out of 7
Put chopped pieces of mackerel in the cooled brine, cover with a lid and place in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
step 6 out of 7
After the time has passed, drain the brine, remove the mackerel and pat dry with paper towels.
step 7 out of 7
Put the appetizing fish on a plate and serve.

Enjoy a delicious snack!
