Salted tomatoes without vinegar

Salted tomatoes are very different in taste from pickled ones. They taste like salty natural tomato juice. It is advisable to choose medium sized tomatoes.

Wash the tomatoes in running water, tear off the tails.

Place the tomatoes in sterilized liter jars. Stack as much as will fit in the jar. Pour 1 tsp into each jar on top of the tomatoes. salt with a high slide.

Place a thin towel on the bottom of a wide saucepan, put jars of tomatoes on it. This trick helps keep the jars intact during boiling, otherwise they may burst. Pour water into a saucepan, it should cover about 2/3 of the height of the can. Pour the tomatoes with cold water (not boiled). Cover with lids on top. Turn on the fire under the pan. After boiling water in the container, reduce the fire to a minimum and sterilize the jars for half an hour.
