Solyanka without olives

For lovers of homemade hodgepodge, we suggest cooking this soup according to a simple recipe described below. However, olives are not indicated in it, because not everyone likes the somewhat specific taste of these fruits. Yes, and they did not always cook a hodgepodge with the addition of olives: the fashion for them came to us from the Mediterranean countries quite late, around the 19th century, but the primordially Russian hodgepodge of meat scraps with pickled cucumbers existed on the tables of our ancestors much earlier.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Peel the potatoes, wash, cut into strips. At the same time, dip the smoked chicken legs into boiling water, cutting them into pieces. Season the water to taste, add the potatoes and cook the flavored broth for 10-15 minutes. Smoked chicken is already ready, so you don't need to cook it for a long time.
step 2 out of 5
Cut the boiled sausage into cubes.
step 3 out of 5
Cut the smoked sausage into small strips.
step 4 out of 5
In vegetable oil, fry finely chopped onions and carrots (carrots can be grated), then add all the sausage, pickles cut into strips, as well as chopped tomatoes and tomato paste there. Bring the vegetables to the grill until tender.
step 5 out of 5
Put the frying pan into a saucepan with leg broth. Boil the soup for a couple of minutes, turn off the heat and let it brew under the lid until cooked for 15 minutes. Serve the hodgepodge with sour cream. Lemon, olives, olives and capers are added as desired, already in portioned plates. For beauty, the soup can be seasoned with chopped parsley or dill.

Bon Appetit!
