From simple and cheap products, you are invited in this recipe to quickly prepare a delicious lunch - a village-style hodgepodge. Choose the stewing time yourself, because someone loves raw cabbage in a dish, and someone likes to stew the hodgepodge until brown.

Peel the onion and carrots and cut into small pieces. Transfer them to a stewing container: a cauldron, a heavy-bottomed saucepan, or a rooster.

Peel the potatoes and chop them into cubes. Transfer it to a container as well.

Chop the cabbage into thin strips or small pieces and add to the rest of the vegetables.

Add fresh tomato, washed and cut into small cubes.

A slice of pork, preferably with a layer of bacon, cut into cubes and place on top of the vegetables.

Then put tomato paste and laurel leaves in the hodgepodge, salt to your liking, sprinkle with pepper and stir. Then pour one and a half cups of water into a container and place it over medium heat. Simmer the hodgepodge for 45 minutes and covered.
