Ketchup is a seasoning of ripe tomatoes that perfectly complements hot and cold dishes, snacks, meat dishes. There are many recipes for making ketchup, this recipe describes a variant of an unusual method - cooking ketchup using plums. On the one hand, tasty and unusual, on the other hand, simple and fast!

We wash the tomatoes, put them in a bowl of boiling water for one minute. Then we make a cruciform incision and remove the skin. Cut the tomatoes in half or into quarters.

We also wash the plums, then cut them into halves and remove the seeds.

Cut the peeled onions in half and pass through a meat grinder. You can also use a blender for convenience.

Place tomatoes, plums and onions in an enamel pan, put on fire and cook for 1.5 hours. Stir the components periodically. After a while, we pass the resulting mass through a sieve or grind with a blender into a homogeneous mixture. Add salt, granulated sugar, red ground pepper and cloves to it. Boil the sauce for about 15 minutes. Then pour in the vinegar, mix and remove the pan from heat.

We lay out the finished ketchup in sterilized containers, tighten the lids tightly. Cool at room temperature, store in a cool place.
