If you do not have ready-made broth, wash the chicken meat, put it in a saucepan. Fill with cold water. Salt well. Put the saucepan on moderate heat and bring to a boil, periodically removing the resulting foam with a slotted spoon. Reduce heat and simmer chicken for 20-30 minutes.

Peel the onions, rinse in cool water and cut into small cubes. Add chopped onions to the chicken broth. Bring to a boil.

Measure out the required amount of rice, rinse it under cold water several times until clear water to get rid of starch and debris. Add washed rice to boiling chicken broth, bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and cook kharcho for 10-15 minutes.
