Cooking borscht, salads and other dishes using beets can now be planned without reference to the fact that the root crop must first be baked and cooled. The finished beets will already be waiting in the fridge! Unpeeled, it can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.

We put the beets wrapped in foil in a suitable shape and send them to an oven preheated to 220 degrees to the middle level. We bake for forty to forty five minutes. If the beets are large, the baking time is likely to take longer. We check the readiness by piercing the roots with a thin knife: if the blade enters without resistance, then the vegetables can be taken out.
