Pumpkin-apple juice without sugar for the winter

Pumpkin-apple juice is a storehouse of vitamins and nutrients. Today we will start preparing this healthy drink for the winter. During the cooking process, we will boil apples and pumpkin in water, and then puree with a hand blender. We will prepare the juice without adding sugar, which is a huge plus for those who are going to use the juice for feeding a baby, or as a drink for people who do not consume sugar. The small amount of lemon juice that we will add to the juice is a natural preservative, so the juice is perfectly stored throughout the winter in a cool, dark place.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
To prepare the juice for the winter, we chose ripe juicy butternut squash, rinse it under running water, dry it with a towel and cut off the amount we need. Peel and seed the pumpkin and cut into cubes. We spread it in a saucepan with a thick bottom.
step 2 out of 6
Rinse the apples in running water, put them on a kitchen towel and leave them for 10-15 minutes to dry from the water. Then, using a vegetable peeler, peel the apples, cut them in half, remove the stalk and core. Cut the apples into 4-6 pieces, depending on the size of the apples. Place the apples in a saucepan over the pumpkin, add water and set the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mass to a boil and boil for about 10 minutes, so that the apples and pumpkin become soft.
step 3 out of 6
Rinse the lemon, dry it with a towel. We put the lemon on the work surface and roll it several times, pressing it a little with the palm of your hand. Then cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice out of its half.
step 4 out of 6
Remove the finished soft apples and pumpkin from the heat, let it cool slightly and chop in mashed potatoes using a submersible blender. Then we wipe the mass through a sieve to obtain a homogeneous consistency.
step 5 out of 6
Then put the juice back into the pan, add water and lemon juice, mix and boil for 2-3 minutes.
step 6 out of 6
Pour the finished hot juice into pre-sterilized bottles, seal tightly with boiled lids and leave to cool completely at room temperature. Then we store the juice in a cool dark place.
