It is best to use finely ground wheat flour. Then the dumplings will definitely not boil over. The flour must be sifted through a sieve. Gradually add it to kefir. Stir the dough with a spoon after each addition. Soda also needs to be sieved. Add it to the dough and stir. The baking soda shouldn't taste like dough.
