Jam 5-minute blackcurrant and gooseberry

A five-minute jam is prepared not only for the sake of dessert for tea, because it is very useful due to the content of a large amount of vitamins, and with prolonged cooking they are destroyed. "Five Minute" is prepared from whole or chopped currant and gooseberry berries and is often supplemented with citrus fruits or other berries. To keep such jam well, it is important to use dry berries and sterile containers. Although these berries contain natural pectin, short cooking does not make a thick jam.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
For this workpiece, jars of any volume are sterilized in advance in a hot way (oven or microwave). The lids are boiled for 5 minutes. Berries of currants and gooseberries are cleaned of stalks and debris, thoroughly washed under running water and dried with a kitchen towel.
step 2 out of 6
Prepared berries are chopped in a blender or food processor bowl together or separately, depending on the volume of your harvest.
step 3 out of 6
The degree of grinding is chosen at your discretion, because someone loves uniform jam, while someone likes it with small pieces of berries. If desired, an orange peeled from the zest is crushed together with the berries.
step 4 out of 6
The berry mass is poured into the cooking utensils and the calculated amount of sugar is poured onto it.
step 5 out of 6
Then, with a wooden spoon, the berries are mixed with sugar until it is completely dissolved. The jam is placed on medium heat and brought to a boil with constant stirring. The foam is removed from the surface. The jam is cooked exactly 5 minutes from the beginning of the boil. For a thicker texture of the dessert (optional), cooking for 5 minutes can be repeated 1-2 more times with a break for cooling.
step 6 out of 6
Hot jam is immediately poured into dry sterile jars, hermetically sealed and covered with a warm blanket for a day. Such jam is well stored in any dark place, even in an apartment.
Delicious and successful preparations!
