Apricot jam with nuts

Apricot jam with nuts is a real delicacy. Apricots in jam are tender and aromatic, nuts are boiled in syrup and acquire an unusual dense texture. Such a dessert in a jar will cheer up both adults and children in cold winter.

We wash the apricots, discard the defective fruits. Let the washed apricots dry. We clean the walnuts, sort out possible debris.

Cut the apricot in half and remove the pit. This is how we deal with all the fruits.

We place the prepared apricots in a basin or a wide saucepan and cover them with sugar.

Stir the apricots with sugar and leave for a few hours to let the fruit juice.

We put the apricots on the stove and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally so that the sugar does not burn. Cook for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the stove and let the jam stand for several hours. After that, we repeat the procedure again two more times: cook for 10-15 minutes and turn it off. Let it cool and brew for several hours.

Thanks to repeated short-term cooking, the fruits are not boiled, but remain intact.

We prepare walnuts: we break large pieces into smaller pieces, but do not grind too much.

For the last, fourth time, bring the jam to a boil and immerse the walnuts in it. Cook the jam together with the nuts for 20 minutes.

We lay out the hot jam on pre-sterilized jars. Close with sterilized lids. Let it cool and put it away in storage.
