Sweet cherry jam with whole berries

Jam with whole cherries is prepared without much hassle. In order for the berries to retain their shape during heat treatment, the seeds do not need to be removed from them. And in order for the jam to have a beautiful rich color, choose dark varieties of cherries.

Pour sugar into a container for cooking jam, pour 200 milliliters of hot water, stir. Boil the sugar syrup to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Put the cherries in the sugar syrup, boil for 5 minutes over medium heat, after boiling. Remove the froth from the surface of the jam with a spoon. Then remove the jam from the stove and leave overnight.

Put the jam on the fire again, bring to a boil, add the juice of half a lemon and pectin mixed with sugar. Mix the contents of the pot well and cook for 5 minutes over medium heat.
