Cherry jam with citric acid

Cherry jam with the addition of citric acid is a tasty and unusual delicacy, suitable for winter storage. Cherry jam turns out to be thick in consistency, and the berries themselves will be cooked in their own juice. The color of the finished delicacy is very rich, amber. Delicate, sweet, with a slight sourness, sweet cherry dessert will appeal to the whole family!

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
For the preparation of this jam, we select only the largest and most beautiful berries. Boil water and scald cherries with boiling water. Then discard the berries in a colander to drain the liquid. After that, fill the berries with granulated sugar.
step 2 out of 4
We put a container with cherries and granulated sugar on the fire. When the berry mass boils, boil it for only 5 minutes. Remember to stir the jam so it doesn't burn. After that, turn off the gas and cool the berry mass to room temperature. When the jam has cooled, put it again on moderate heat and after boiling, cook for 5 minutes. Cool it down. When the berry mass is boiled for the third time, add citric acid to it and also keep on fire after boiling for only 5 minutes. Citric acid will help the finished jam during long-term storage not to be sugared.
step 3 out of 4
After the third cooking hot, pour the jam into pre-sterilized containers, close tightly with lids. Cool it upside down under a warm blanket, then move it to storage in a cool place.
step 4 out of 4
Fragrant, thick and incredibly tasty cherry jam is ready!

Enjoy your tea!
