Black raspberry jam

Many people confuse black raspberries with blackberries, but these are two completely different berries. Black raspberries are hollow inside and have a more rounded shape compared to blackberries. Black raspberries are just as healthy as their classic red varieties. In order to preserve the beneficial properties of the berry as much as possible, it is recommended to cook it for a short time. In this case, the jam will not turn out thick - it is convenient to use it to pour pancakes, pancakes, cheesecakes, etc. It is also excellent for soaking cake layers.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
To begin with, black raspberries should be sorted out in order to remove all debris from the berries, accidentally trapped leaves, twigs and stems. Place the raspberries in a colander and wash them thoroughly under running water. The washed raspberries should be allowed to dry. To do this, you can sprinkle the berries on a towel and wait until the moisture evaporates. To prepare the syrup, pour the specified amount of water into the container and add granulated sugar. Heat the mixture to a boil, cook the syrup with stirring for a couple of minutes.
step 2 out of 4
Put clean dried berries in a bowl for making jam. Fill with granulated sugar and mix. We cover the container with the raw material with a clean towel and leave it for five to six hours so that the raspberries let out the juice.
step 3 out of 4
After that, we put the container on the stove. With occasional stirring, bring the berry mass to a boil. After boiling, cook the jam for five to seven minutes and remove from the stove.
step 4 out of 4
Pour hot jam into pre-sterilized jars and roll up with dry sterile lids. Let the jam cool and put it in a cool dark place for storage.
