Cold black currant jam

Currant berries are very valuable for the presence of vitamins, trace elements and bioflavonoids. To preserve all this wealth for the winter days, you can prepare raw jam in the cold way. This jam is a healing treat during colds for children and adults.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
Preparing currants for jam.
step 2 out of 6
Rinse the berries thoroughly under running water. Let the water drain by unloading the currants in a colander.
step 3 out of 6
To make the fruits dry completely, sprinkle them in one layer on a clean, dry towel and give a little time for the moisture to evaporate. It is very important to properly prepare raw materials for such a harvest in a raw way, as this is the key to successful long-term storage.
step 4 out of 6
Prepared berries need to be chopped. For this, it is recommended to use wooden tools such as a mashed potato pusher. The fact is that when in contact with the metal, the berries give an oxidation reaction, and some of the vitamins are destroyed. This does not happen when using a tree.
step 5 out of 6
However, if there is no time for manual chopping, of course, you can use a meat grinder or blender. Mix the crushed berries with the specified amount of granulated sugar, mix thoroughly for five to ten minutes so that the sugar crystals are completely dissolved.
step 6 out of 6
We spread the resulting mass in sterilized dry jars, leaving a little free space - two to three centimeters above the surface of the jam. We close it with sterile lids and put it in a cool, dark place for storage. Recommended to be consumed throughout the year.

Bon Appetit!
