Fig jam with orange

The halves of the figs are covered with sugar, poured over with orange juice and orange peel is added to them. Everything is left for at least three hours, after which the jam is cooked for 15-20 minutes. It is laid out in jars and tightly closed with lids.

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
First, thoroughly rinse the figs under running water and put them in a colander so that all the excess liquid is glass. Cut off the tails and cut each berry in half.
step 2 out of 6
We shift the figs into a container in which the jam will be cooked. We fill it with granulated sugar. Rinse the orange well and pour over it with boiling water. Cut off the zest and sprinkle it on the figs with sugar. Then we squeeze out the juice and also send it to the container.
step 3 out of 6
Mix everything well and let it stand for at least three hours at room temperature, stirring occasionally. It is best to leave the figs overnight. After this time, the berries should have given juice.
step 4 out of 6
We put the jam on a small fire, bring to a boil and cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally. We also remove the resulting foam.
step 5 out of 6
We shift the hot jam into pre-sterilized jars and close them tightly with lids. Let it cool completely, after which we send it to a cool dry place for storage.
step 6 out of 6
Fig jam turns out to be very tasty. We use it as a filling for baking or serve it neat with hot tea. Bon Appetit!
