Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First, thoroughly rinse the figs under running water. We transfer it to a colander and leave it until the excess liquid is completely drained.
step 2 out of 8
Using a knife, cut off the tails from each berry. Cut the figs into small pieces of about 1 cm.
step 3 out of 8
We transfer the chopped figs to a saucepan and cover it with granulated sugar. Leave for 15 minutes so that the berries begin to secrete juice and a syrup is formed. Stir occasionally so that the ingredients mix better with each other. You can also use honey instead of sugar.
step 4 out of 8
After this time, pour the figs with drinking water, put on fire and bring to a boil, stirring constantly so that the sugar is completely dissolved.
step 5 out of 8
Then reduce heat to medium and cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
step 6 out of 8
When the figs are soft, check the consistency of the jam. Dip a spoon into a saucepan and tilt to the side. If the syrup drips down in thick drops, then you're done.
step 7 out of 8
We spread hot jam on clean dry jars, leaving about half a centimeter on top.
step 8 out of 8
Close everything tightly with lids and leave to cool completely. We store the finished jam in the refrigerator for three months. Serve with fresh white bread, cheese and hot tea. Bon Appetit!
