Dogwood and pear jam

Cornel is a pitted berry that grows on bushes. Healthy dogwood berries are often used in medicine. Cornel improves appetite and restores metabolism. Compotes and preserves are made from low-calorie berries. I recommend making delicious dogwood and pear jam.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
Prepare all the ingredients you need to make the dogwood and pear jam. Sort the dogwood, put it in a sieve, rinse thoroughly and let the excess liquid drain. Rinse the pears thoroughly, cut in half, remove the core and cut into wedges. Place the prepared pears in a heavy-bottomed metal dish.
step 2 out of 7
Remove the seeds from the dogwood berries. It is convenient to do this with the bottom of the glass, pressing it on the berry. Add the peeled berries to the bowl to the pear wedges.
step 3 out of 7
Fill the berries with the required amount of granulated sugar.
step 4 out of 7
Stir well and leave for 3-5 hours, covered with a lid or clean kitchen towel. During this time, the berries will start up a sufficient amount of juice and soak in syrup.
step 5 out of 7
Then put the container with berries on low heat, bring to a boil, stirring occasionally and removing the resulting foam. Cook the jam for 40-50 minutes. In the meantime, prepare the jars, wash thoroughly and sterilize in the microwave or oven. Pour boiling water over the lids. Jars and lids must be completely dry.
step 6 out of 7
Using a ladle or large spoon, carefully place the hot jam into sterile jars. Tighten jars of dogwood and pear jam with sterile screw caps or close nylon lids and cool completely.
step 7 out of 7
After cooling completely, transfer the jars to a cool, dark place for storage. The cooled jam has an incredible taste and aroma.

Enjoy!
