Dogwood jam for the winter

During the ripening season of berries and fruits, you can find small, but very useful berries on the market - dogwood. Compotes are made of them, jam is made, dried and simply ground with sugar. Due to the large amount of pectin in the dogwood, the jam from it turns out to be thick with a rich taste.

Sort the dogwood from twigs and leaves. Wash the berries, you do not need to remove the seeds.

If the fruits are very hard, then make small punctures on them with a toothpick so that the juice flows out.

Pour sugar into a saucepan and pour in water, stir, cook sweet syrup. Bring it to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly, then remove from heat.

Pour the dogwood immediately into the boiling syrup, no need to cook. Cover the container with the jam with a lid and leave for 4 hours, during which time stir the jam several times.

After that, put the container with the jam on the stove, bring it to a boil over medium heat. Then reduce heat and cook for 10 minutes, stir occasionally.

Arrange hot jam in sterilized jars and roll them up. Cool seams upside down.
