Strawberry jam with whole berries

Thick strawberry jam with whole berries is nice to open in winter. You can put it on fresh bread, or just enjoy tea with a bite.

Put the washed berries in a saucepan with a thick bottom in parts and sprinkle each layer with sugar.

Pour all the remaining sugar on top. Cover the pan with a lid and let it sit for 12 hours to form juice.

Put the pan with the preparation on fire, boil and cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally and removing the foam from the surface. Remove it from the stove and leave to cool for 2 hours. Repeat cooking 3 more times, so the jam will become much thicker.

Spread hot jam into sterile jars and roll up.
