Five-minute red currant jam

Red currant jam is very bright and beautiful: the berries do not lose their attractive color when cooked. Due to the short-term cooking, most of the valuable vitamins are retained. Such a jam will come in handy for a cold.

Rinse the currant berries thoroughly under running water.

We clean it from twigs, random impurities and defective specimens. Let the berries dry.

Pour sugar into a suitable container and pour the indicated amount of water.

We put the container on the stove and, with constant stirring, bring the syrup to a boil. It is better to keep the temperature of the stove medium or low, since the syrup burns easily.

Pour the prepared red currant berries into a completely homogeneous boiling syrup and mix. Bring the mixture to a boil and cook for five minutes. Remove from the stove and let the jam cool completely.

Repeat the cooking and cooling sequence two more times. After the last cooking, immediately pour the jam into pre-sterilized dry jars and close with sterile dry lids.

Allow the filled jars to cool completely. We put the cooled jam in a cool dark place for storage.
