Gooseberry jam with oranges

Gooseberry jam turns out to be thick, since the berries contain pectin. The oranges in the composition give a fragrant citrus aroma. In general, such a jam is more like a jam, since the fruits are crushed to a uniform consistency and boiled down. But visible gooseberry seeds prevent the jam from becoming a homogeneous jam and add an interesting textural nuance.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
We wash the gooseberry berries with running water, remove the defective fruits. Cut off the tails with small scissors.
step 2 out of 5
We wash and dry the orange. Remove the entire zest with a special knife or fine grater. Then cut the orange into two halves and squeeze the juice out of both.
step 3 out of 5
Gooseberry berries, along with the zest, must be chopped. To do this, you can use a submersible blender or pass the raw materials through a meat grinder.
step 4 out of 5
Place the crushed raw materials in a saucepan, add granulated sugar and orange juice. Heat to a boil and cook over medium temperature for 40-45 minutes. We maintain a boil at a medium intensity and stir constantly so that the mass does not burn and actively evaporates moisture.
step 5 out of 5
Pour hot ready-made jam into pre-sterilized dry jars. Close with sterilized lids and let the jam cool completely. Put the cooled jars with the blank into a dark and cool storage place.

Bon Appetit!
