Dandelion Cough Jam

The fragrant and healthy dandelion jam is similar to homemade flower honey. Preparing a treat is not difficult; you need very few ingredients. Jam is perfect as a delicious cough medicine, can be served with tea.

Dandelions must be harvested during their flowering period. It will take 400 heads. They should be collected with scissors, carefully cutting off the flowers from the green parts. Place the ingredient in a large, wide bowl.

At home, we sort out the flowers again. We do this as needed. If you see green leaves, then remove them by hand or with scissors.

The flowers do not need to be rinsed with water; this will wash away their nectar. We send the heads into a saucepan, fill them with a liter of cold water and put them on fire. Bring the water to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes. Add citric acid to the flowers and keep on the stove for another 25 minutes. At this stage, a pleasant jam aroma will appear.

Remove the pan from the stove and filter the contents. We get rid of the flowers. We leave only the broth.

We send the broth back to the pan and add sugar. We put it on the stove and wait for it to boil.

After boiling, reduce the heat and keep it on the stove for 30-40 minutes. The density of the jam depends on the cooking duration.
