Sorrel jam for the winter

Few have heard of such an exotic way of preparing sorrel for the winter, but believe me, this jam is incredibly tasty. This sweet sorrel treat is great for filling pies, especially open ones. This blank can be made from spring to autumn, when sorrel grows. Try it!

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Collect and rinse fresh sorrel, towel dry or discard in a colander. Measure out the required amount of sugar.
step 2 out of 5
Chop the sorrel, place it in a saucepan or bowl, add granulated sugar.
step 3 out of 5
Add water to a container and put on fire.
step 4 out of 5
After the sorrel starts to boil, reduce heat and simmer for about fifteen to twenty minutes. You can boil the jam for a longer time if you need thickening for the filling of the pies.
step 5 out of 5
Distribute the finished jam into small jars, having previously sterilized them. Tighten the jars with sterile lids, then turn the jam jars upside down and cool in a heater. Store in a closet or cellar out of direct sunlight.
