Mulberry jam with orange

The mulberry is a black berry that resembles a blackberry. Its distribution is quite large, and the berries are sour and small in size. These berries are easy to find in the woods and harvest for a wholesome and mouth-watering jam. A spicy mulberry dessert you can easily prepare for the winter to flavor baked goods, pancakes and drinks.

First, you need to collect the mulberries and sort them carefully. It is necessary to remove all bugs and worms, as well as twigs, leaves and rotten berries.

Pour whatever remains into an enamel or plastic bowl and cover with sugar. Mix gently. Leave the bowl of berries under cheesecloth overnight in the refrigerator.

In the morning, when the berries are infused and the granulated sugar melts and combines with the berry juice, put a saucepan or enamel bowl with berries on the stove and bring to a boil. When the jam boils, boil it for a couple of minutes and let it cool.

Scald the orange with boiling water, remove the zest and grate or cut into pieces. You can add only the zest to the jam, or cut the orange into small slices.
