Pine cone jam classic recipe

For those who have never tried this "pine cone honey", we offer a classic recipe for its preparation. Pine cones are harvested in the second half of May when they are young, green and soft. It is better to collect them in a clean forest and away from a dusty road. The jam will pleasantly surprise you with its honey taste and pine aftertaste. Try it!

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
Rinse the collected pine cones thoroughly with running water, removing all debris and small animals. Do this with gloves as it will be difficult to rinse the resin off your hands. Dry the washed cones with paper towels and transfer to a bowl for making jam.
step 2 out of 4
Pour the specified amount of cold water over the buds and place the crockery over low heat. Cook the jam for 1 hour, covering the dishes with a lid. After this time, add the calculated amount of sugar to the buds, stir and cook for another 2 hours. Stir the jam regularly and remove the froth from the surface. At the end of cooking, you can add lemon juice if desired.
step 3 out of 4
While the jam is cooking, sterilize the jars and lids.
step 4 out of 4
Spoon the pine cones into the prepared jars and fill them with thick honey syrup. Roll up the jars. Put some of the jam on a saucer to sample. Store jam in a cool and dark place.
