Jam from apples and pears with slices

Apples and pears are the perfect combination of summer fruits. The pear gives the jam a unique delicate texture, while the apples share their sourness and aroma. The prepared dessert is a real health resort of useful microelements and acids.

We wash the fruits thoroughly and place them on a clean cloth to absorb excess moisture, or blot them with a paper towel. Then cut into small slices, getting rid of the pith with bones. We leave the skin, thanks to it, the texture of the fruit will be preserved much better.

Slices of pears must be pierced with a toothpick or skewer.

Put the prepared ingredients together with the halves of walnuts in layers in a bowl in which the jam will be cooked. Be sure to lightly sprinkle each layer with sugar.

When all the food is stacked in layers, it is recommended to gently shake the basin (preferably in a circular motion) to distribute the sugar evenly.

Leave the prepared mass soaked in sugar for 5-6 hours. Be sure to cover the top with a clean cloth that absorbs excess moisture that we do not need.

Put the soaked pears with apples on high heat until the first signs of boiling, then reduce the flame, cook for 15 minutes and remove from the stove.

Leave the fruit to cool for about 8-10 hours, then repeat the heat treatment three times. At the last stage of cooking, add lemon juice and vanilla sugar to taste.

Passed all the stages of processing, jam, cool and lay out on sterilized jars. We roll it up and put it in a cool dark place.
