Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
First of all, you need to devote time to gooseberries. For this jam, it is best to take exactly green, slightly unripe large berries. We thoroughly wash the berries, tear off or cut off the tails and stalks with scissors.
step 2 out of 8
Next, in each berry we make a longitudinal incision and carefully take out the core of the berries with seeds. It is very important to do this carefully so that the berries do not remain intact, but hollow inside.
step 3 out of 8
Put the prepared gooseberries in a large saucepan, alternating berries and cherry leaves. Fill with cold water and let the berries brew for at least 6 hours, but it is permissible to leave them for a longer time, for example, overnight.
step 4 out of 8
After the berries are infused, carefully drain the water into a separate saucepan. This is important because water infused with berries is the basis of the jam syrup. And the berries dry out a little at this time.
step 5 out of 8
We put the infused water on the stove, bring to a boil and add sugar to it. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved, and leave the syrup to simmer for about 3 minutes and remove from the stove.
step 6 out of 8
Add berries to the syrup and leave our future jam for another 3 hours.
step 7 out of 8
After this time, once again boil the berries together with the syrup for about 5-8 minutes. And again, you need to give the berries time to brew for about 6 hours. And then again 2 times: boil for 5-8 minutes, leave to infuse for 6 hours and boil the jam for the last third time.
step 8 out of 8
Gently lay out the hot jam in sterilized jars, roll up and let it cool.

The jam is ready!

Gooseberry jam through a meat grinder

Gooseberry jam through a meat grinder is prepared quite simply and quickly. This recipe is suitable for young housewives who decided to pamper their household with a delicious treat.

Ingredients:

Gooseberry - 2 kg

Sugar - 2 kg

Cooking process:

  1. We start by preparing the berries. Be sure to wash the gooseberries well in warm running water and sort them out so that spoiled berries do not get into the jam. Remove the tail and stem from each berry.
  2. We take a meat grinder. Scroll the berries through it to get a homogeneous gooseberry berry mass.
  3. Add sugar to the ground berries and mix. The berry mass should stand for about 3 hours for the sugar to dissolve. Stir the mixture periodically to help all the sugar grains completely dissolve.
  4. We transfer the mass to the saucepan. It is best to use enamel, then the jam will not burn.We put the pan on the stove and begin to cook the jam, stirring it constantly.
  5. After a while, foam will begin to appear at the top of the mass during cooking, which must be removed with a slotted spoon or spoon. Cook the jam for 10-15 minutes, remembering to constantly remove the foam.
  6. We remove the jam from the stove. It is best to store jam in glass jars. They must first be sterilized, and then filled with the finished berry mass. We lay it out in jars immediately after cooking, without letting it cool down.
  7. We close or roll up the jars and let the jam cool.

Jam with orange and lemon

Jam with orange and lemon will be appreciated by real sweet tooth. Zesty notes of citrus fruit go well with gooseberries. This jam will certainly take its place of honor on the table on winter evenings.

Ingredients:

Gooseberry - 1 kg

Sugar - 1 kg

Orange - 1 pc.

Lemon - 1 pc.

Cooking process:

  1. We transfer the entire gooseberries into a deep bowl or colander and rinse thoroughly in water, remove the spoiled berries and other floating debris.
  2. The next step will take a little time from the hostess. Using nail scissors or small kitchen scissors, we cut off the stalks and tails from each gooseberry berry, if any. This is done so that the stalks do not float in the finished jam and do not spoil the taste and appearance of the jam.
  3. Let's start preparing the orange lemon. Wash the fruit thoroughly. Rub it dry. Before you start slicing the lemon, you can first remove the skin from it. But the orange should be used in this recipe only with the peel. Cut the citrus fruits into four slices and remove all the seeds from the fruit.
  4. We put the washed and rid of the stalks gooseberries into a blender and grind it. If the size of the blender allows, then add lemon and orange to the ground gooseberry and grind everything together. If the blender bowl is small, then transfer the gooseberry mixture into a deep bowl, grind the lemon and orange separately, and then add the gooseberry.
  5. Pour the fruit mixture into a saucepan and add sugar.
  6. We put the saucepan on the stove over medium heat and cook, stirring occasionally, for 25-30 minutes.
  7. So the jam is ready. We fill them with pre-sterilized jars and roll them up under the lid. Jam in jars will cool for about one day. After it has cooled down, it is better to store the jam in a cool place.
