Dumplings with strawberries on steamed kefir

Treat yourself and your family with a delicious and sweet dish and cook aromatic dumplings with steamed kefir strawberries. Dumplings with berries are best steamed, as with this method of preparation, the filling is guaranteed to remain in the dough and not leak out.

Prepare all the necessary ingredients for making kefir strawberry dumplings. Remove kefir from the refrigerator in advance and let it warm up at room temperature. Sift wheat flour into a deep container, pour kefir into the depression.

Then, break up a chicken egg, salt and add baking soda. Mix thoroughly.

Place the dough on a clean, dry countertop, knead well, cover with cling film or a clean kitchen towel, and rest for half an hour.

Sort the strawberries thoroughly, put in a sieve, rinse gently and let the excess liquid drain. Cut into several pieces depending on the size of the berries.

Roll out the rested dough on a clean dry table with a rolling pin into a layer 3-5 millimeters thick. Cut out the circles with a glass.

Add granulated sugar to the center to taste and lay out the berry filling.

Connect the free edges of the dough and mold them well, pressing firmly with your fingers. Or use a special device for sculpting dumplings. While sculpting the dumplings, put a saucepan of water over medium heat, bring to a boil.

Place a double boiler on top and cover it with several layers of cheesecloth. Place the dumplings neatly at a distance from each other. Cover and cook for about 3-5 minutes.
