Pour half a glass of milk into a deep container. We break a chicken egg to it and stir the mass with a fork. Add a little salt to the milk and mix everything again. You can add half a teaspoon of baking soda to make the dough thicker.
step 2 out of 7
The flour must be sifted in advance. It is advisable to do this several times. So it will be enriched with oxygen. This will make the dough fluffy and fluffy. Add flour to milk in small portions. Stir the dough with a spoon after each addition. You may need to use a little less or more flour than the recipe says. Form the dough into a ball. Put it in a plastic bag or wrap it in plastic. Transfer the dough to the refrigerator for 20 minutes or to the freezer for 10-15 minutes.
step 3 out of 7
While the dough is resting, we start preparing the filling. For dumplings, you can use frozen or fresh cherries. You will have to get the frozen cherries out of the refrigerator in advance so that they melt a little. Be sure to drain the juice and water that it leaves behind. Fresh cherries need to be rinsed well. You will have to take the time to remove seeds from the berries. This can be done with a safety pin. If you have a special appliance in your kitchen, use it. This will save a lot of time. Transfer the cherries to a deep bowl. Add sugar to it and stir well. After that, add semolina to the berries. It is she who will absorb the juice of the berries, because of which the dumplings can come unstuck during the cooking process.
step 4 out of 7
Remove the dough from the refrigerator. Move it to a flat surface. Roll out the dough into a thin layer. Now we need to make circles out of it. To do this, use a glass or mug. Spread the finished circles on the table at a distance from each other. To prevent them from drying out, cover them with cling film.
step 5 out of 7
Let's start assembling dumplings. Place some filling in the center of each circle. Make sure that the cherry juice and sugar do not get on the edges of the dough. Because of this, dumplings can become unstuck during cooking. Connect the edges of the dumplings. Then squeeze them with your fingers. Place the dumplings on a wooden board.
step 6 out of 7
Pour cold water into a saucepan. We put it on fire and wait for the water to boil. After that, add salt to it and stir. Put the dumplings into the water quickly. Stir them constantly with the back of a spoon to prevent them from sticking to the sides of the pot. When the water boils again, turn down the heat. Cook the dumplings for 5-7 minutes. When they float to the surface of the water, remove them and transfer to a colander. So excess fluid will drain from them.
step 7 out of 7
Serve the dumplings immediately after cooking. However, even when cold, they retain their taste. You can decorate the dish with fresh berries. You can also brush the dumplings with melted butter. Serve with sour cream or your favorite jam. Such a dish can please you and your loved ones. Enjoy!
