Cooking process
Add the sugar and salt solution to the sifted flour. Stir the dough gently with a spoon. Then add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to it. Stir everything again. Stir the dough first with a fork or spoon. After that, transfer the dough to a table or wooden board. Be sure to dust the surface with flour. Knead the dough with your hands. It should be soft. Form the dough into a small circle. Transfer it to a plate and let stand for 25 minutes. The dough must be aged so that it is not sticky and dry as a result.
Let's start preparing the filling. The cherries must be removed from the freezer in advance so that the ice comes off a little. Transfer the berries to a separate bowl. Mix 3 teaspoons of sugar and 2 teaspoons of starch in another container. The amount of sugar can vary depending on your desire. You can use corn starch or potato starch.
When the dough is infused, place it on a wooden board. Roll it out to a thin layer. You can make circles with a glass. Its diameter should be approximately 5 centimeters. If you end up with more circles than you need to cook, cover them with cling film and refrigerate until next time. In the center of each circle, we first put a mixture of sugar and starch. Thanks to the starch, the juice of the berries will not flow out too much. Put a couple of cherries on the mixture. After that, we fasten the edges of the dumplings. Do this carefully so that they do not fall apart during the cooking process.
Fill a pot with cold water. Place it on the stove. When the water boils, add salt to it. You can also add some vegetable oil to it. Stir the water well to prevent the dumplings from sinking to the bottom of the pot. Start gradually dipping the dumplings into the water. Stir them constantly to keep them from sticking to each other. This must be done with the back of the spoon. When the water boils again, turn down the heat. Cook the dumplings for another 5 minutes. When they're completely done, transfer them to a colander.
