Fried dumplings with cherries in a pan

Fried dumplings with cherries will remind you of pies with a crispy crust and juicy filling. This recipe does not use sugar, so we advise you to eat cherry dumplings fried in a pan, pouring honey and sprinkling with powdered sugar.

Knead the dough. First, dissolve the salt in a glass of water. Then pour the water and salt into a container in which you will knead the dough, and gradually begin to introduce the sifted flour. First, knead with a false one, when the dough becomes thick and can be kneaded with your hands, transfer it to a work surface sprinkled with flour.

Make a depression in the center of the dough and pour in the vegetable oil (1/2 tablespoon, the remaining oil will be used for frying). Continue kneading for a couple more minutes.

When the dough becomes elastic, gathers into a ball, and does not stick to your hands, cover it with a towel and let stand for 10-15 minutes. Prepare the cherries during this time. Wash it, remove the stalks and seeds (in any way convenient for you). Then transfer to a colander and let the excess juice drain.

The cherries are ready, roll out the dough. Cut the dough in two with a sharp, dry knife, previously dusted with flour.

Sprinkle flour on your work surface. Take one of the pieces of dough and roll it into a rectangular layer 3-4 millimeters thick.

Cut the resulting rectangle into 3 pieces. You can do this both vertically and horizontally. In this case, it doesn't matter.

Then cut the resulting strips into 3-4 pieces, while cutting off the uneven edges. You should have square shaped dough pieces.

Place 3 cherries diagonally in each piece of dough. And fasten the edges so that you get triangles.

Place the blinded dumplings on a floured cutting board. Do this until you run out of dough pieces.

Put a frying pan on the stove, pour sunflower oil into it and turn on the heat. When the skillet is hot, start spreading the dumplings one at a time. Fry them until golden brown on each side. It is very convenient to turn dumplings with cooking tongs.

Remove the dumplings fried on both sides from the pan and transfer to a paper towel, which will absorb all excess fat remaining on the dumplings.
