Wash the cherries, dry them on a kitchen towel. Remove the seeds from the cherries, grind the prepared cherries in a blender until smooth, resembling puree in consistency.

Pour the cherry puree into a large saucepan, add sugar and stir. Put the cherry mass over low heat. Cook for half an hour, stirring constantly.

After half an hour, add the gelling mixture to the cherry mass, mix thoroughly. Cook for another 25 minutes over low heat until the cherry mass thickens.
