Cherry pie jam

Cherries sound very tasty in fillings for pies and cakes, but in winter the price of these berries bites a little. We offer to prepare delicious and aromatic cherry jam from seasonal berries, which can be used ready-made in winter in confectionery.

Sort and wash the berries, remove the seeds with a paper clip or a special machine. Pour the prepared berries into a heavy-walled saucepan.

Add 1 cup granulated sugar to the cherries and stir. Put on high heat and wait until it boils. After boiling, cook for about 5 minutes, without reducing the heat.

Add another 200 g of granulated sugar to the pan and stir. Cook again for 5 minutes, stirring and collecting foam from the surface.

Add another glass of sugar and stir. Cook for 5 minutes, and then pour the remaining sugar into the pan. Mix everything, cook for another 5 minutes. and remove from the stove.

Pour ready-made cherry jam hot into sterilized glass containers and roll up or close with plastic lids. Turn the container with the jam upside down under a warm blanket and leave it until it cools completely. Store in a cellar or closet.
