Cherry Jam with Agar Agar

To make cherry jam, you need to use thickeners, since the berry itself contains a minimum amount of natural pectin. This recipe uses agar agar. Jam based on it turns out to be thick and very tasty.

We take out a blender, pour berries into its bowl and use a nozzle with a metal knife to interrupt the cherry.

Pour the resulting berry mass into a saucepan and add granulated sugar. Sprinkle and set aside 1 teaspoon of sugar for now.

Cook the jam for about 7 minutes more. A sure sign that the jam is ready is that its consistency will begin to thicken. But it is in the cold state that the jam will thicken completely. After the cherry jam has cooled, you can treat yourself to it. You can store this jam at room temperature. If you are making cherry jam for winter seaming, then increase the amount of food you use. From the specified amount of berries, granulated sugar and agar-agar, approximately 550 ml of jam is obtained.
