Cherry confiture with pectin

Cherry confiture is a very popular product in the production of confectionery. This jam often serves as a layer for cakes or filling for other baked goods. Making cherry confiture is easy, and beginners can do it too. To achieve the desired consistency, pectin is often used in its preparation.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 5
Cherries should be sorted out and rinsed thoroughly under running water. Then we dry the berries and remove all the seeds.
step 2 out of 5
In a separate container, mix granulated sugar (4 tablespoons) and pectin. Let's leave this blank aside for now.
step 3 out of 5
We transfer the prepared cherries to a container where the confiture will be prepared. After that, the berries must be covered with the remaining granulated sugar. Mix everything and leave aside for about 4 hours. This time is enough for the sugar to dissolve, and the cherry let out the juice.
step 4 out of 5
We put the container with berries and granulated sugar on minimum heat. Bring to a boil. After boiling, cook the jam for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Then pour a mixture of granulated sugar and pectin into a container with berries. Stir so that the pectin is well distributed throughout the berry mass. We boil all the ingredients for 2-3 minutes, then turn off the gas.
step 5 out of 5
Hot cherry confiture must be poured into sterilized jars and tightened with lids. The jam will thicken completely only after cooling. You can store such confiture in a cool place and at room temperature.

Enjoy your tea!
