Apple-orange compote for the winter

Apple compote has a huge number of admirers, despite its simplicity and availability, it turns out to be very tasty. And if you add some oranges or freshly squeezed juice to apples, then its taste and usefulness will double.

Wash apples and oranges. Pour boiling water over the orange, remove the peel, but do not discard it.

Disassemble the orange pulp into slices and remove the transparent film from them, cut the zest into cubes.

Cut the apples into quarters and core.

Put all the ingredients in a dry, sterilized jar and pour boiling water up to the top. Cover the jar with a lid and let sit for 30 minutes. During this time, you can wrap the jar in a terry towel.

Then drain the water back into the pot, add sugar and cinnamon. Bring the syrup to a boil and cook for 5-7 minutes.

Pour the hot syrup back into the fruit jar and immediately roll up the lid. The compote should cool completely at room temperature. Store your apple-orange drink in a cool place.
