Sugar-free apple and pumpkin puree at home for the winter

This puree is prepared without sugar and any sweeteners. The sweetness of the dish is given by correctly selected varieties of apples and pumpkins, as well as raisins.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 6
Try to choose a pumpkin with a gray skin for mashed potatoes, it has a brighter taste and aroma. Rinse it under running water, peel it and cut it in half. Use a spoon to scrape the insides with seeds and cut the flesh into small cubes or wedges.
step 2 out of 6
Apples also need to be rinsed, peeled and tough. Cut into slices about the same size as the pumpkin. Place everything on the steamer rack.
step 3 out of 6
Soak the raisins in boiling water for 5-7 minutes. Then squeeze it lightly, dry it with a towel and place it on the steamer rack with the rest of the ingredients.
step 4 out of 6
Set the steamer timer for 20 minutes. At this stage, you need to focus on the degree of doneness of the pumpkin, since this is the densest ingredient. If, after 20 minutes, it is still hard on the inside, leave it in the steamer for another 5-10 minutes.
step 5 out of 6
Transfer the prepared foods to a bowl and use a crush to chop them until puree. If you want the consistency to be softer, more homogeneous and without large lumps, then use a blender or food processor.
step 6 out of 6
Put the finished puree in pre-pasteurized jars and roll up under the key or close tightly with screw caps. Arrange the jars upside down or fold on their side, wrap them up with a blanket and leave to cool completely, then store in a dark and cool place.
Bon Appetit!
