Apple jam like marmalade

Apples contain a lot of pectin, thanks to which you can make from them not only jams and compotes, but a great variety of sweets - and marshmallows and marmalade. According to this recipe, you can make a dense marmalade jam, which lays down on any bakery products in an even saturated layer.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
First, take fresh apples and cut each apple into quarters, removing the core and any dented areas.
step 2 out of 9
As a result, you will get apple slices without stalks and cores. The apples will need to be baked before boiling the jam to soften them.
step 3 out of 9
Arrange the apples tightly on a baking sheet and place them in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for twenty minutes.
step 4 out of 9
When the allotted time has passed, transfer the apples to a saucepan or bowl and use a hand blender to grind them. You can use a food processor or proceed in any way you are familiar with.
step 5 out of 9
Next, you need to rub the apple mass through a sieve, in which the skins will remain. The puree itself will become smooth and uniform, like baby puree in jars.
step 6 out of 9
Add granulated sugar to a saucepan with applesauce, mix well and put the container on fire. You will have to cook this jam for a rather long time, from an hour to an hour and a half.
step 7 out of 9
While stirring constantly, cook the jam until it thickens. In parallel with this, you can sterilize clean cans in the oven. They are sterilized in ten minutes at a temperature of 100 degrees.
step 8 out of 9
Put the finished thick marmalade jam while still hot in sterile jars and prepare the lids - rinse and boil them. Close the jam with a seamer or screw caps.
step 9 out of 9
Cool the finished jam upside down, and then store it in the cellar or closet. The shelf life of the workpiece is no more than two years.
