We all remember the very taste of thick apple jam as a child. It was put in pies, in baked goods, added to cottage cheese in the morning. This jam is reminiscent of early dewy mornings, grandma's country house, the thick aroma of apples in the garden. It is the very nostalgic jam that we propose to cook today.

Sort the apples, wash, peel. Weigh out 1 kg and cut into small pieces. Cover apples with granulated sugar, pour in water. Stir and leave in the refrigerator for 6 hours to let the fruit juice.

Put apples in sugar and simmer over low heat. Bring to a boil and cook, stirring occasionally and passing with a wooden spatula along the bottom of the pan, for an hour and a half. The jam usually behaves well, does not burn and does not run away.

After an hour and a half, remove the container with the jam from the heat and use a submersible blender to grind the apple mass until a homogeneous puree is obtained.

Put on low heat and cook for another 10 minutes, covered with a lid, otherwise it will shoot. In a hot state, spread the jam in sterile jars and roll up with sterilized lids. Cool to room temperature and store in a cellar for 1-2 years.
