Apple jam with gelatin

There are many apple jam recipes, for every taste and color. We suggest preparing this version of an apple delicacy with gelatin. This will provide a dense consistency - it is convenient to use such a jam with pancakes, toasts, as filling in pies. It is advisable to use apples of sweet varieties - their taste and texture are suitable precisely for making thick jam. And you don't have to add a lot of sugar.

We wash the apples from dirt, dry them. Pour gelatin with water and leave to swell for ten to fifteen minutes.

We cut each apple into four parts and cut out the seed pods. The peel does not need to be cut off. Then cut the quarters into smaller pieces.

We put the apple pieces in a saucepan and pour in the indicated amount of water. Place the pot on the stove and bring the contents to a boil. Cook for five to ten minutes until the apple pulp softens.

Pour granulated sugar into apples, mix and boil for 20-30 minutes with a fairly active boil. Do not forget to stir constantly to avoid burning. While the jam is cooking, stir the gelatin until the granules are completely dissolved. At the end of cooking, pour the gelatin into the jam, mix and cook for another ten minutes. We lay out the hot jam in sterile jars and close with dry sterilized lids. We remove the cooled jars with jam to the storage location. After a few days, the jam will become much thicker.
