Apple juice through a juicer at home for the winter

Apple juice is a great drink option, both for a festive and everyday table. Prepared without added sugar, it contains a large amount of vitamins and will be an excellent source of nutrients for strengthening the immune system in the winter-spring period, and a great alternative to store-bought drinks and juices, which contain preservatives.

Cooking process

step 1 out of 7
For the preparation of juice, it is best to choose ripe, juicy apples of good quality. We sort them out so that there are no spoiled or wormy fruits. Then we rinse in warm running water and put on a kitchen towel so that they dry from the water.
step 2 out of 7
Cut the apples in half and remove the core and stalks. Next, cut the apples into 4-6 pieces, depending on the hole in the juicer.
step 3 out of 7
We pass the apples through a juicer and let the finished juice settle in the tank for 5-10 minutes.
step 4 out of 7
After the juice has settled, we filter it through cheesecloth folded in 4-6 layers.
step 5 out of 7
Pour the finished juice into a deep saucepan and put on medium heat. Our goal is to warm up the juice to a temperature of 90-95 degrees. As the juice heats up, use a slotted spoon to remove the resulting foam from above.
step 6 out of 7
After the painstaking work of collecting the foam, we should have pure juice of a beautiful amber hue in the pan.
step 7 out of 7
We wash the juice cans with baking soda, rinse thoroughly with running water and place them in a cold oven on the grate with the neck down. We sterilize the jars at a temperature of 110-120 degrees for 7-10 minutes, after which we take them out of the oven. Let the jars cool slightly and pour the ready-made hot juice over them. We seal the jars tightly with boiled lids, turn them upside down, check the tightness and leave to cool completely at room temperature. Then we remove the juice cans for storage in a cool dark place.
