Apple juice using a press at home

Have you tried making apple juice with a press? Today we will tell you about this method of juice preparation. The press is a small wooden barrel equipped with a jack or a screw on top. The prepared fruits are placed in a basket covered with a cloth and juice is released under the mechanical action of a jack. If the apples are juicy, then you can get up to 5-7 liters of juice from one bookmark. In the cooking process, we do not use sugar, but if you wish, you can add sugar during the heat treatment of the finished juice, the amount of which you determine to your taste.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 4
For the preparation of the juice, we select only good quality ripe apples. If the apples were picked under the apple tree, they must be carefully sorted so that spoiled fruits do not get into the juice - they can spoil the taste of the juice and disrupt the storage of the workpiece. Thoroughly rinse the apples and lay them on a towel so that they dry from the water.
step 2 out of 4
Cut the apples into 4-6 parts, place them in a crusher and grind them into a homogeneous apple mass.
step 3 out of 4
Screw the screw press to the working surface. We put a cloth for filtering juice into the basket and fill it with apple mass. Tie or twist the fabric on top and squeeze out the juice. We create a small pressure in the basket, gradually tightening the screw, while the apple juice will be released.
step 4 out of 4
Pour the finished apple juice into a saucepan and heat it to 90-95 degrees. Then we pour it into pre-sterilized jars, seal it tightly with boiled lids and turn it upside down. We leave the jars of juice at room temperature until they cool completely, after which we store them in a cool dark place.
