Jellied milk pie with cabbage and egg in the oven

Jellied pies are great for the ease of preparation and availability of ingredients. According to this recipe, we will cook a pie with cabbage and eggs. For additional flavors, add onions, ham, cheese and herbs. The finished baked goods are very juicy due to the egg filling. The pie is especially good when warm.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 9
Finely chop the cabbage by hand or using a special grater. Add a little salt and knead the chopped mass thoroughly with your hands so that it gives juice. We leave the cabbage for fifteen to twenty minutes so that the juice stands out even more.
step 2 out of 9
While the cabbage secretes juice, prepare the dough. In a large bowl, mix the egg, milk, melted butter, salt and granulated sugar until smooth. Next, pour flour and baking powder onto the resulting liquid mixture and knead the dough. Knead it well so that no lumps remain.
step 3 out of 9
Squeeze the present cabbage with your hands from the juice and transfer to another bowl. Add to it grated cheese on a coarse grater, ham cut into small cubes, chopped parsley and onions cut into small pieces. We also add spices: coriander and cumin. Mix everything thoroughly together. Beat the eggs for the filling in a small bowl. We send soft butter to them and stir again with a whisk. It is normal for lumps of butter to float in the egg mass. Later, these pieces of butter will spread over the cabbage filling.
step 4 out of 9
Grease the baking dish with vegetable oil using a silicone brush or cover with oiled parchment. We spread half of the kneaded dough, level it with a spatula.
step 5 out of 9
Spread the cabbage filling on the dough in an even layer.
step 6 out of 9
Pour the beaten eggs with butter on top of the filling. We try to distribute the mixture evenly throughout the cabbage.
step 7 out of 9
Next, close the cabbage filling with the eggs with the remaining dough. If necessary, cover the remaining gaps with the back of the spoon.
step 8 out of 9
We put the formed cake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. We bake it for forty to forty-five minutes, until a golden crust is browned on the surface.
step 9 out of 9
We take out the finished pie from the oven. Let it cool slightly and cut into portions. Serve warm.

Bon Appetit!
