Frozen Cherry Jellied Pie

Jellied pies are great because they are quick and easy to prepare, but they always turn out delicious. Their only significant difference is that they do not tolerate cold well and become a little harsher, so it is better to eat it immediately after cooking.

Ingredients

Cooking process

step 1 out of 8
Let the frozen cherries thaw at room temperature in a colander to drain off excess juice. Then transfer to a deep bowl and cover with sugar and starch.
step 2 out of 8
Stir gently so that the berries are completely covered with the dry mixture, and leave for a while to let the juice flow.
step 3 out of 8
Break eggs into another bowl and add sour cream. Combine them with a mixer or a hand whisk, you do not need to beat much.
step 4 out of 8
Into the resulting mixture, in parts, add flour and baking powder, sifting it through a fine sieve. Stir the dough thoroughly after each addition so that there are no flour lumps.
step 5 out of 8
Melt the butter in a water bath or microwave and stir into the dough as well. Stir until you achieve a homogeneous mass, similar in consistency to thick sour cream.
step 6 out of 8
Pour the resulting dough into the prepared baking dish and smooth with a spatula or spoon.
step 7 out of 8
Place the cherries on top, press them lightly into the dough and pour over the juice.
step 8 out of 8
Bake the pie in the oven at 180̊C for 40-45 minutes. Remove the finished dessert from the mold and leave to cool on the wire rack so that condensation does not soak from below. If desired, you can sprinkle it with a thin layer of powdered sugar on top before serving.
