Green tomatoes in a bucket

Salting green tomatoes is not such a complicated process, but they turn out to be very tasty and crunchy. There are many different ways to harvest green tomatoes, one of the simplest and most convenient is pickling in a bucket.

Select tomatoes of about the same size, without signs of spoilage, and wash them.

Peel the garlic. In the tomatoes, make indentations at the place where the stalk is attached, insert a clove of garlic there.

Prepare an enamel bucket, wash it with baking soda and rinse well with water. Wash the greens and put some of it on the bottom of the bucket, put a couple of bay leaves and a few peppercorns there.

Next, lay a couple of layers of green tomatoes, shift them with herbs and seasonings, repeat these layers until you run out of tomatoes. Cover everything with horseradish leaves, it will not let the tomatoes go bad.

Dissolve 350-400 grams of salt in five liters of water and pour this brine over the tomatoes. Cover the bucket with a plate and put a press on it, close the bucket with a lid. Put the bucket with tomatoes in a cool place for a month, if mold appears, it needs to be removed and the tomatoes can stand further. After a month, the crispy pickled tomatoes will be ready.
